The Book, Cat, & Cat Book Lovers Almanac

of historical trivia regarding books, cats, and other animals. Actually this blog has evolved so that it is described better as a blog about cats in history and culture. And we take as a theme the advice of Aldous Huxley: If you want to be a writer, get some cats. Don't forget to see the archived articles linked at the bottom of the page.

Keith Olbermann was born January 27, 1959, and has achieved fame as a sports and political commentator. He won "three Edward R. Murrow Awards for Writing, the first for his coverage of 9/11, the second for its anniversary commemorations a year later, and the third in 2010 for his tribute to his mother, 'A Baseball Fan Named Marie'."

Two of his books are The Worst Person In the World: And 202 Strong Contenders (2006)
(which starts with praise for George Carlin and Bob and Ray, with their Mary Backstayge Noble Wife radio skit.) and Pitchforks and Torches: The Worst of the Worst, from Beck, Bill, and Bush to Palin and Other Posturing Republicans (2010).

We read that Olbermann refuses the label of liberal, saying he is just an American. He is allergic to cats, so we can't hold them against him.  Nothing else we would want to.
