Audrey Hepburn (May 4, 1929 to January 20, 1993) was born in Belgium to an Austrian father and Dutch mother. During the Nazi occupation they shared the privation of the population, at times even resorting to eating bulbs to ease their hunger. In her brief life Audrey Hepburn would become an icon of feminine beauty and heart.
