John Butler Yeats ( March 16, 1839 to February 3, 1922) was an Irish painter. A successful painter, though he was apparently never secure financially. Yeats studied at Trinity College Dublin. He and his wife Susan had six children, one of whom was William Butler Yeats. He did a pencil drawing of a cat. The foreshortening emphasizes the cat's head. You can see it on Google images. He wrote the title on the drawing: "Rascally Old Cat."
