Cynthia Powell Healer is currently the music lab teacher and artist in residence in Mansfield, Massachusetts. She has been a guest soloist with the American University, the Capitol Hill, and the National Symphony Orchestras, and she has performed solo piano recitals in the Washington and Boston areas. She earned academic degrees from the American and Harvard Universities, and is an alumna of New England Conservatory where she concentrated in Kodaly methodology. She served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kodaly Center of America. She is a church musician, and also plays flute and piccolo in the Southeastern Massachusetts Wind Symphony. The Maine Coon cat on the cover is named Octavius.
