May 9, 1915
April 21, 1878 to May 9, 1915 are the dates of Albert Weisgerber, a German Jewish artist whose reputation is secure despite his early death in World War I. There is a nice discussion of his career here,. We must mention his portraits of people and their dogs such as " Dame mit Windhund." The drawing below, for an edition of Grimm's fairy tales (1900), illustrates his creativity, and our purpose.
