Rosa Brett (December 7, 1829 to January 31, 1882) was a Victorian painter, who used "Rosarius" as a pseudonym, until 1862, when exhibiting her work. She never married. Her brother John Brett, was also a painter, and they often worked together. He described his sister in 1858 as ‘ardent, impulsive and unbendable’. After her death it was discovered that there was much more of her work than the public realized. "Catnap" is one of her better known works:
