Dr. Adam Weiss, (born in 1969) astrophysicist at Johns Hopkins, and Nobel Laureate (announced October 4, 2011) , is also -- a very funny guy. Interviewed on NPR's news quiz, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, October 9, 2011, there was this exchange involving the man who co-discovered the accelerating expansion of the universe. After explaining that we had no idea what composed most of the universe, he said, but we gave it names, like dark matter, dark energy. Poundstone riposted, why give the unknown elements names, do they come when you call? And Adam Weiss said, "Why do you name your cat.?"
