Roland Penrose, (October 14, 1900 to April 23, 1984) was an artist and famous too for his championship of surrealism. He and his wife Lee Miller lived at Farley Farm House, where cats were an important part of their lives, as his son Anthony Penrose documents in his book The Home of the Surrealists: Lee Miller, Roland Penrose and Their Circle (2008). Anthony maintains the property now as a museum.

Roland Penrose was the uncle of Roger Penrose, world famous mathematician, whose fault it is not that I have not finished one of his books.
