Maurice Ravel (March 7, 1875 to December 28, 1937) composed an opera which included cats. Colette wrote the librettos. You have here a confluence of the genius of two French artists along with a commingling of ailurophilic sentiments. Ravel was a cat lover and Colette is famous for having and writing about, cats. The cover art below
is for a 2008 recording, but the collaboration on this music originally began during World War I and their opera "L’Enfant Et Les Sortileges" premiered in Monte Carlo in 1925.
