August 10, 1938

Tony Ross (August 10, 1938) is a British author of children's books, an illustrator of others' books, and a film-maker of animated films for television. His picture books are not limited to:

I Want a Cat, 1989, and
The Shop of Ghosts, (from G. K. Chesterton), 1994.

Among the books for which he is credited as illustrator we note:

Willis Hall, Vampire Park, 1983 
Michael Palin, Limericks, 1985
Roald Dahl, Fantastic Mr Fox, 1988
Michael Morpurgo, Red Eyes at Night, 1998
Jeanne Willis, Flabby Cat and Slobby Dog, 2009;


His Who's Who article lists his hobbies as: "Sailing, gentle sports, keeping unfit".

It also mentions his three marriages, and a partner. Here is one of many cats he drew.
