May 2, 1955

Like many men, Tennessee Williams vastly overestimated his own knowledge about women. Apparently the Pulitzer committee did too. On May 2, 1955 the Pulitzer Prize for drama was awarded to the stage production of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
