February 26. 1918

Theodore Sturgeon, (February 26, 1918  to May 8, 1985) was not just a prolific science fiction author, he was prolific with his fictional felines. The author who could draw such memorable pictures as that of a: "Ghost of a little cat patting around eternity looking for a familiar lap to sit in." was widely anthologized in collections of feliine fiction, such as --
Magicats! edited by Jack Dann, Gardner Dozois  (1987 ),
Beware of the cat, stories of feline fantasy and horror, edited by Michel Parry (1973) and
Mystery cats: felonious felines from Ellery Queen's mystery, edited by Cengage Gale (1994 ).
