June 21, 1905

Sartre's birthday was June 21, 1905. In a letter to Simone de Beauvoir he describes his new cat, not the color of it, but that it was fat, and noble. A friend of theirs would put a huge portion of meat in front of the cat, and tell it: "Mull that one over."
