April 30, 1945

Annie Dillard was born on April 30, 1945. In a lovely essay, (not the subject of this note), called the "Death of a Moth," published in the May, 1976, issue of Harper's, Dillard describes her two cats, one yellow, one black, who "sleep on her legs."
