of historical trivia regarding books, cats, and other animals. Actually this blog has evolved so that it is described better as a blog about cats in history and culture. April 1, 1855

Agnes Repplier, a gentle essayist, was born on April 1, 1855. She collected comments about cats, in The Fireside Sphinx,(1901) though she was not the first cat anthologist, I don't think. And April is not just the coolest month (whoops that pun didn't work) but it starts the prolific season, not just for birds, but for cat anthologists. I have no idea why.
