The Book, Cat, & Cat Book Lovers Almanac
of historical trivia regarding books, cats, and other animals. Actually this blog has evolved so that it is described better as a blog about cats in history and culture. And we take as a theme the advice of Aldous Huxley: If you want to be a writer, get some cats. Don't forget to see the archived articles linked at the bottom of the page.

Mar. 28, 1941
March 28, 1941 is Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson's birthdate. This author of books such as the recent, "The Nine Emotional Lives of Cats," is prolific. I did not read this book, it seems dubious to suggest cats have even ONE emotional life. But my ears perk up when I hear his name, because I did read a book he wrote: Freud: The Assault on Truth, (1984) and liked it very much. The guy is a Sanskit scholar, and why he is writing books now like: Dogs Never Lie About Love, strikes me as indicating missing pieces of a story which has not been told.
