March 12, 1922

This post derives from a link that I will not name. Not because it is the originator of much misinformation-- but as a feeble attempt on my part to staunch the stench of a misguided striving toward cuteness which actually contributes to the surrounding cultural illiteracy in which we live. To say nothing of bad prose. I am tracing the sources of these accidental or most often I think, deliberate falsifications. Without a definitive result yet. Anyway, that project continues, and I mention it now, since the site includes among the items, a name for one of the cats that belonged to Jack Kerouac (March 12, 1922 to October 21, 1969): Tyke, which attribution is accidentally accurate.
