The Book, Cat, & Cat Book Lovers Almanac

of historical trivia regarding books, cats, and other animals. Actually this blog has evolved so that it is described better as a blog about cats in history and culture. February 2, 2007

Atlanta is fortunate to be home to a special bookstore: Atlanta Vintage Books.
According to their Facebook page , February 2, 2007 is the date the current owners took over a previous book business. Atlanta Vintage Books is known by all book lovers in the area as a haven also for cats.

Located at 3660 Clairmont Rd, Atlanta Vintage Books has a regular web site. They sponsor writers and would-be writers.  And, quoting:

"Of course it wouldn't be a bookstore without a cat - or five. Callie, Frieda, Mickey, Boo, and Little Boo...Roarty and Bolgla also work with other businesses in the neighborhood to feed stray cats and always keep a bowl of food or water outside." (I hope this information is still current.)

The husband and wife came from careers in commercial printing and graphic design to run the store. They have 7,000 sq ft, and 75,000 books, besides the cats.
