July 19, 1819

Gottfried Keller (July 19, 1819 to July 15, 1890) is widely called one of the greatest writers Switzerland produced. There is a biographical preface to this English
translation of some of his Seldwyla Folks stories. And the first story, "Three Decent Combmakers" features cats. His fiction is dark and realistic, and amazing.
