of historical trivia regarding books, cats, and other animals. Actually this blog has evolved so that it is described better as a blog about cats in history and culture. Helen Cresswell (July 11, 1934 to September 26, 2005) wrote children's books and the screenplays for those televised. She graduated from King’s College, London with a BA (English Hons). Her marriage (1962) to Brian Rowe lasted for 33 years, before they divorced.

Her bibliography includes many more titles than are listed below:

Moondial, (1987)

Rosie and the Boredom Eater,(1989)
Whatever Happened in Winklesea? (1989)
Posy Bates and the Bag Lady, (1992)
Stonestruck, (1995)
Mystery at Winklesea, (1995)
Bag of Bones, (1997)

The last title is about, according to the blurb: "Griselda Dogberry [who] wishes something exciting would happen - then suddenly it does. Bag of Bones is a fantasy novel about a magical cat, a strange bag of bones and a sinister rag-and-bone man."

Helen Cresswell, for her Who's Who entry, (the basis for most of our notes above) listed her recreations as:

"Watercolour painting, collecting books, antiques and coincidences, sundial watching".
