Felix Vallotton (December 28, 1865 to December 29, 1925)was a Swiss artist, known for his painting and his woodcuts. Cats featured occasionally in his work. Another cat lover, Gustav Klimt praised his work. They both had a similar gift for abstraction. Louis Tiffany used some of his designs.
This example of a print from a woodcut of his explains why Felix Vallotton is credited with reviving that art.
