According to Andrew Romano at the Daily Beast, Hayao Miyazaki (born January 5, 1941) made his last movie, The Wind Rises, in 2013. Miyazaki, the creator of animated films like My Neighbor Totoro, "in which a surreal cat bus with headlight eyes soars through the sky" is often compared to Disney. Yet Disney is concerned to create good little consumers that are forced into suburban molds. Miyazaki's world has no good and evil; children are able to discover their own values. He has announced his retirement before, and changed his mind. One may hope and wish such a luminous talent well under all circumstances.
