February 17 , 1930
It is too hard to think of a world without Ruth Rendell, or, as those of us who don't know her say, Baroness Rendell of Babergh. She was born February 17, 1930, and is still distinguishing our cultural world with her books, mainly about crime. A lot of books, a lot of honors. And she also has written mysteries involving cats.
