The Book, Cat, & Cat Book Lovers Almanac

of historical trivia regarding books, cats, and other animals. Actually this blog has evolved so that it is described better as a blog about cats in history and culture. And we take as a theme the advice of Aldous Huxley: If you want to be a writer, get some cats. Don't forget to see the archived articles linked at the bottom of the page.

June 28, 1937

Oh Magliozzi brothers I wish you were not retiring, but of course, that is selfish of me. And at least we have a cat story, out of 25 years of radio talk shows. Tom (born on June 28, 1937) and Ray (born on March 30, 1949) reminisced on air in what turned out to be their last year of live radio, about "Doug." Doug, belonged to Ray's family, and apparently was better loved by the neighbors, than the Magliozzis, who found him cranky. It was not Doug, but another kitty, who, lost for two days, was found to have crawled up under the car hood, found while Ray was at a junkyard and someone noticed the cat. The cat bolted from the vehicle, but was finally caught by Ray, after a chase through an icy muddy junkyard. Those are the only cat stories I have, for these two MIT graduates. Take care guys, you will be missed.
