April 18, 1802

Erasmus Darwin (December 12, 1731 to April 18, 1802) was a grandfather of Charles Darwin and himself stated an early exposition of the idea of evolution. He was a physician, a poet, a philosopher and participated in a vigorous intellectual community, associated with the English midlands (Lichfield especially).Among his cats was a Persian, which we can assume was white, since it was named Snow Grimalkin.
