Aug 11, 1892

August 11, 1892 is the birthdate of the Scottish poet Hugh McDiarmid. One of his poses was disdaining readers who could not understand his poetry. He called the thoughts of such readers, a "vegetable cat's melody". At least I think that is what he is referring to by this phrase.
