The Book, Cat, & Cat Book Lovers Almanac

of historical trivia regarding books, cats, and other animals. Actually this blog has evolved so that it is described better as a blog about cats in history and culture. And we take as a theme the advice of Aldous Huxley: If you want to be a writer, get some cats. Don't forget to see the archived articles linked at the bottom of the page.

February 20, 1902

Ansel Adams (February 20, 1902 to April 22, 1984)  appears with a cat in this photo of the great photographer.  Although it is presented as evidence he was a cat-lover, I am not seeing any psychic bond below.

I couldn't figure who took this photo of Ansel Adams. We do know he took portraits of other photographers. Here's an example. Adams took this polaroid of Margaret Bourke-White, in 1964.

And you may see what is meant by a bond between cat and person in it.

And you can see Ansel Adams's genius above, in the way person and cat are looking in the same direction.
